It was on the Xmas eve, me & ma soulmate :) decided to end our boring Day.
Next question is where to go. Only answer google......
Finally we decided to go to Big Banyan Tree since it is only 20km.
Big Banyan Tree is just 10km from NICE road. Take right from Rajarajeswari Nursing College at Mysore Road.
We reached there in 25min. But the place was not upto our expectation. It just looks like a small park under the Banyan Tree with a temple in the middle.
The tree is said to have around 400 years old. It has lost the main trunk. The tree is spread over 3 acres. Lots of monkeys are there so be carefull.
Since the trip to tree was not as we expected we planned to visit Manchanbele Dam. The Dam is only 10km from the Banyan Tree. The road is not so good.
When we reached Dam we saw few people near the catchment area. So they are allowing people to go inside..... great!!!!!
You can drive your car or bike till the river bank.
The place doesn't have much to boast on but a nice place to spend your evening.
The sunset view was superb...You can only stay near the catchment area.
Overall I am satisfied with the Dam visit with good sunset view.....
